Kontainers.com is a multi-tenant SaaS (Software as a Service) platform. A tenant is a group of users who share a common access point but with specific separate privileges to the software, in other words what you see when you log in depends on what permissions you have. There are three different customer tenant options on the Kontainers platform. Starting in order from the most permissions to least they are:
- System Administrator
- Support Administrator
- Your Customer (Primary and Secondary)
The System Administrator is the 'owner' of the Administrator site. This person can perform all the tasks of a Support Administrator but is the only person that can:
- Change the Appearance of the site using the custom branding UI
- Add or Remove Administrators
We recommend against giving this permission to all Support Administrators as the System Administrator does have to ability to carry out 'customer impacting' operations e.g. global banner notifications.
A Support Administrator is the 'standard' Administrator user. This person has access to all the customer support operations available in the Kontainers Administrator dashboard.
Point of note: Neither the system Administrator nor the Support Administrator have access to the customer facing platform. In order to access the Customer site, Administrator users will need to self register and be KYC approved before accessing the site.
The administrator can use the same e.g. email address and password to register as a Customer but the Administrator and Customer accounts are kept separate for security reasons. Should the administrator change their settings on the Administrator site, these changes will not be reflected on the Customer site.
Your customer cannot access the Kontainers Administrator site. Customers will be able to access your company branded Kontainers customer UI by following the customer registration flow on your branded customer UI.
