Often, a Customer will want to book a mix of containers or book many multiples of the same container type. It is important that we do not lose this business so we will offer to 'Split' the FCL quote across multiple carriers. Kontainers offers this 'Split' facility as part of the FAK Create Booking process and the Contract (Spot) Tariff booking process.
An FAK customer wants to Book a 20' Dry and a 40' Dry to a particular destination. When the quote is returned from the system, some of these quotes will have a red 'i' symbol to indicate that some but not all of the required equipment is available for this Carrier.
Select the 'i' symbol to expand and the breakdown of the Booking will show the rate but will also will indicate what is excluded from this rate, in this case a 40' Dry.
The user can then decide if they want to Book what is available at this rate at this ETD on this Carrier OR look further down the list for other options to book.
What are the business scenarios this feature covers? If a user has a preference for a ETD or rate for the containers available they can take what is available and - assuming there are other Tariffs for other carriers on the system - they can then create a separate booking for the remaining equipment with another Carrier to complete their order.
We also offer this facility for Contract customers. In that scenario, if there is no Equipment at the Contract rate OR that equipment Contract allocation has expired then the system will split the quotes between equipment types and offer either a Contract or FAK rate depending on equipment availability.
