In Kontainers system, a multi-leg shipment is composed by a two or three distinct transportation legs which allow customers to book freight shipments by truck and sea.
Bookings can be of 3 types:
- Door to Port, with a Trucking and a Sea leg in sequence
- Port to Door, with a Sea and a Trucking leg in sequence
- Door to Door, with a first Trucking, a Sea and a second Trucking leg in sequence
In any scenario at this time, a Sea leg must be included.
Door to Door example
In the Customer UI, click on “New Booking” and type the origin and the destination in the “From” and “To” fields
Select the equipment type and click on “View quotes”
In the “Quotes” page, by clicking on the icon on each result, you will see that the details of the quote include trucking legs.
Quotes are indicated by the icon representing the transportation method and are broken down separately for each leg.
Among the other booking details, in the order summary you will see a Collection and a Delivery section.
Collection is about the 1st Trucking leg as in the details needed to collect the load, needed for a Door to Port booking.
Delivery is about the 2nd Trucking leg as in the address to which the load is to be delivered, needed for a Port to Door booking.
Both information are mandatory to fulfil the order. Once you provide the information, you can proceed with the standard booking workflow. More info about the booking workflow here.
